Program Summary & Background
A comprehensive 2-day capacity building training camp organized by Mission4Care India Foundation (MCIF) at Chitrakonda Block, Malkangiri District. The program trained 60+ representatives, Sarpanches, nominees, and social workers across 18 Gram Panchayats, resulting in the selection of 7 Model Villages and concrete action plans for grassroots rural development.

Key Interventions & Recommendations

1. Promotion of Education: Increase awareness on educational importance, appoint adequate teachers, and build playground/school infrastructure.

2. Social Awareness: Eliminate superstitions, witchcraft beliefs, child marriage, and alcohol abuse through active campaigns.

3. Safe Drinking Water: Provide clean piped drinking water and tubewell maintenance across all remote hamlets.

4. Healthcare Access: Organize mobile health camps, educate on institutional healthcare, and introduce sanitary napkin awareness.

5. Elderly Support: Establish community-based support systems and senior citizen care networks.

6. Youth Employment: Conduct vocational training, skill building, and local job creation.

7. Market Linkages & SHGs: Strengthen women SHGs and create direct market access for turmeric, ginger, and forest produce.

8. Gram Sabha Empowerment: Utilize 3-Tier Panchayati Raj mechanisms to escalate local demands from Gram Panchayat to State & Central Governments.
The development of a Model Village requires collective effort, transparency, cooperation, and accountability. By actively involving Gram Sabhas, women, youth, and local leaders, Chitrakonda can transform into a beacon of sustainable rural development in Malkangiri.
