Over the years, significant progress has been achieved in agricultural production. However, disparities in agricultural growth, productivity, employment opportunities, and access to modern farming practices continue to exist across different regions of the state.

To educate and empower farmers through agricultural awareness programmes, provide skill development training with agricultural experts, promote modern farming practices, and generate employment opportunities for rural youth in agriculture.

Profitable and Rotational Cropping
Since nearly 60% of Odisha's population depends on agriculture, MCIF places special emphasis on making farming a profitable and year-round occupation.
Objectives:
- Promote crop diversification and rotational cropping
- Avoid leaving agricultural land fallow during non-monsoon seasons
- Educate farmers about high-value crops, vegetables, and agro-cultivation
Key Activities:
- Diversification workshops and seed guidance
- Mobilization of "Krushi Volunteers" across all districts
- Rotational cropping calendar distribution

Soil Fertility and Sustainable Livelihood Awareness
Healthy soil is the foundation of successful agriculture. MCIF prioritizes soil conservation and fertility management through organic farming awareness and training.
Objectives:
- Educate farmers on soil health management
- Promote the use of organic manure and bio-fertilizers
- Reduce excessive dependence on chemical fertilizers

- Soil testing awareness camps
- Bio-fertilizer preparation workshops

Modern Agriculture and Farm Mechanization
To improve efficiency and productivity, MCIF promotes the adoption of modern agricultural technologies and equipment.

Farmers' Rights and Access to Government Benefits
MCIF works to ensure that farmers are aware of and can access various government welfare schemes and agricultural support services.
